De Stijl – 1917-1931

De Stijl – 1917-1931

De Stijl is small groups which are Dutch architects, designers and also artists that in October 1917 they established an art journey which was titled to De Stijl. Apart from  being  a  designer  theo  was  also  a critic  and  also a writer. We also can see two other artists who were Piet Mondrain along with the architect Gerrit Reitveld.
The De Stijl style was led by Theo Van Doesburg where he was part of the group of De Stijl. Theo Van Doesburg has also published a magazine which was called De Stijl which this magazine stayed famous from the year 1917 till the 1928. During the world war I De Stijl artists had created  an  universal style  which  was  in painting, architecture and also  in  design. They used  shaped  in this style  which  are  the rectanglular shape, the square in flate planets  of  bold  primary colors  and also  black, gray and  also  white these we all carefully made  with straight lines. In the 20th century design Piet Mondrain and Gerrit Rietveld had become oft-quoted where these two artists used geometric painting and also equally striking furniture.
The de stijl name was discussed by the group’s theories which were published by Van Doesburg. The de stijl publication represents the significant works such as the graphic design which was from the movement but we can see that the ideas and the form and colors are all influenced on the development of the graphic design.

Yellow, Blue, and Red, 1937-42

Here  we can  see  an  example  of  Piet Mondrain work  which  we  can  see  the geometric  shapes used  in this particular  design. They had  this  particular style which was using  bold  straight lines, primary colors  and  geometric  shapes which  this design is  particular  and  we  also  can  see  this  particular  stye used  on  furniture  such as  chairs  as  seen on the  image.  Which  this chair is  made  in the  year  of  when  the style  has  evolved  which  we also  can  see  the same influence  of  the  design of  Piet Mondrain where we can see  the primary colors  used  and also  we can see some bold black  straight lines.

By time  De Stijl  hav evolved  in much  more  objects such  as  the  De Stijl  design has evolved  in the  fashion  aspect which  we can see that  the design has been  designed on swim suits and also  dresses.  The  design of De Stijl is also seen on shoes with  the  bold  straight  lines  and  primary colors  and  also  with the  geometric  shapes  which  were  very  common  in this  style.  We also can see  that  the  design of De Stijl  was  also influenced on  accessories  such  as  headphones, bags .
